At only around $39 on Amazon, these tiny little quadcopters would be great for a beginner.  I have flown one of these. They fly pretty well for how small they are. I landed fairly hard a couple times and it also ended up in a tree once (I wasn’t in control). There was no damage and it kept on flying.  These are pretty resilient. If you want to try your hand at flying, this would be a good way to have fun and not spend a lot of money.
